How to master time management to ace SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2018?
Staff Selection Commission conducts various competitive jobs exams and out of that SSC CGL is the most sought exams by the aspirants of government jobs. For the last two years, SSC CGL Exam is held online. It is a very challenging factor for those who are not well-versed with the desktop or computer –friendly. One has to master time management so that it is easy to score high and attempt the question paper well in time.
There are certain factors which limit the candidates to score more these are:
- a) Generally, candidates tend to mark wrong answers due to lack of time. It makes the goal too far to meet as each wrong answer is penalized by 0.25 marks. This leads to scoring less.
- b) Sometimes one tends to answer wrong when it comes to easy question due to over-confidence and trying to answer quickly. It is better to answer carefully especially for easy questions.
- c) In the event of missing 4-5 questions, one starts having a mental tension which slows down your speed of solving the questions. It is better not to think too much about the questions that you have left as those were out of your reach.
- d) Trying to reach the finishing time generally leads to a lot of mistakes. Better restrict yourself to such a hurry-burry action which will give you negative marking.

Strategy to acquire Time Management for the Exam:
- Make a timetable to study and follow the same. Give at least 10 hours to study. Out of these, keep 2 hours to practice the previous topics by taking mock tests.
- Join SSC online test series and take one mock test every day and check your performance.
- Give equal time to all the sections while studying but when you are attempting mock test divides your time section-wise.
- To improve your speed take topic tests of 50 questions with a time limit of 30 minutes. Keep the timer on to check the speed of answering.
- Leave the questions which trouble you more. It will simply waste your time. Keep moving with the questions which are in your reach.
- Take full length practice test after completing the syllabus and monitor the time taken to solve it. Improve upon the speed in case you are taking more than the prescribed time limit.
- Do not trap yourself to attempt all the questions. Always decide how many questions you have to attempt so that you can make your ride comfortable. Looking into the cut-off of previous year and target the score and then attempt the mock test. This type of practice will improve your aptitude and attitude towards the question paper.
