How to prepare for SSC CGL EXAM for English Section?

Staff Selection Commission conducts various exams for posts from lower level to higher level, some of the are SSC CGL, CHSL, and MTS. Etc. All these exams are most preferred exams; therefore, it demands hard work and dedication. But hard work only works with dedication and dedication comes with effective strategy to study.

Manage your daily schedule in such a way that it gives you a balanced daily routine rather than a burden. Devote as much as time you can to study after you have thoroughly done your personal work. In case you are working then fix a time after your office hours on regular basis.

There are four sections in SSC CGL Exam such as Logical Reasoning, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and General Studies.

All the sections are important and you must prepare them well to crack the exam. It is generally observed that aspirants do not give much importance to English Language as they think that they can do it anyhow. But it also needs a good preparation.  It is one of the crucial topic as it does not have any trick to solve the questions.

English section consists of three major sections such as:

  • Comprehension: This section tests the understanding of language. It has questions like Reading Comprehensions followed by questions, Cloze Test and Jumbled Paragraph. To enhance reading ability make it a habit to read basic information based articles. It will improve your understanding ability and speed of reading. Speed is the success key to solve the comprehension based questions.
  • Vocabulary: This section consists of MCQs based on Synonyms-Antonyms, One word substitutions, Idioms-Phrases, Spellings, Fill in the blanks with appropriate words. More than 15-20 questions are based on vocabulary. One can improve vocabulary by downloading Mobile app of various dictionaries available online. It will be a ready reference for you and you will be able to improve yourself as and when you will face any difficult word or phrase while reading the scripts or articles.
  • Grammar: This section has question such as Spot the Error, sentence improvement and fill in the blanks. This is the most difficult section as it demands proper knowledge of English Grammar rules. Buy a good grammar rules book to understand them thoroughly and focus on the weak topics.
Besides these tips one must solve the previous year questions to practice he exam pattern and the topics which are frequently asked in SSC CGL Exam.
